Mr Slug

You might be wondering precisely who, or perhapsĀ what, Mr Slug is.

It all started back in June 2012, with the stunning, world-changing release of “The Amazing Adventures of Mr Slug!” season one, episode one. YouTube would forever be a different place after this visual masterpiece, and the benchmark for quality animated viewing was raised to atmospheric heights. I was no longer just a comedy writer – but an artist.

After November of the same year, the bone-chilling first season was completed, and the world would have to wait sometime before their next official Mr Slug fix.

Mr Slug returns: World goes ballistic

After riots, protests and mass-begging, the call was finally answered. November 28, 2014 – Mr Slug’s season two trailer drops on YouTube and the internet explodes.

Six more episodes are released, each more thrilling than the last. It looks as though Mr Slug could not possibly get any more critically acclaimed, but for some, the best was yet to come.

Some said this cover art was too bold, too daring, but we bolded and we dared – and the results speak for themselves.

Mr Slug’s graphic and comic adventures

In October of the following year, Mr Slug takes the world by storm yet again, but this time in a totally different medium. “The Amazing Graphic Adventure of Mr Slug” was a limited-release comic that was said to be even better than the animated series – if that’s even possible.

Next, Mr Slug charged onto Tumblr to begin his foray into the world of webcomics, with another limited-run series.

A total of 15 separate webcomics were released, each more dramatic, amazing and culture-smashing than the last. “The Amazing Adventures of Mr Slug Webcomic” tackled subjects the animated cartoon would never have dreamt of, like politics, pop culture and man’s inhumanity to man. Mr Slug’s arch nemesis – the Evil Wizard – returned in full force, bringing with him an onslaught of drama. Indeed, the only way to read this webcomic, for all but the hardiest of souls, was at the edge of one’s seat.

And there you have it. The complete history of Mr Slug’s internet reign. Long may he live on in memory.
